One of the most famous things the Taiwan International Airport is known for is having a lot of things dealing with “Hello Kitty”.
Here you can find terminals decorated in all Hello Kitty themed goodness. Not only that but they also have a lounge as well where you can hang out at with Hello Kitty statues and pictures.
But the best of all has to be the Hello Kitty Store. Well it is a “Sanrio” Store, but it sells a whole bunch of Hello Kitty Merchandise. Perfect for any Hello Kitty lovers to buy some last minute souvenirs.
So if you have kids or just love Hello Kitty in general, you will absolutely love this airport.

Taiwan is a country known for its vast amount of delicious food. It is literally heaven on earth for any and all foodies. And that experience extends to the airports.
Here at the Taiwan International Airport, you can find many food courts all around serving up some authentic Taiwanese cuisines like soup dumplings, beef noodles, shaved ice and more. You’ll also find plenty of other food options too like Japanese, American, Thai, Middle East and much more.

Hang Out At A Lounge
There are many different lounges here at the airport which provides a nice relaxing environment for any traveler.
Here you can relax and sit around while enjoy watching something the TV, use some WIFI to browse the internet, or even get some shuteye. Plus the best part about lounges is that most of them will even have some food and drinks for you to snack on while you wait for your layover to be over.
Also many of them will even let you in without having to be with a certain airline or flight class. All you have to do is pre-book your visit or use your lounge membership program to gain entry.
If you are a religious person, you will be happy to know that here at the Taiwan International Airport you will be able to find some prayer rooms. These prayer rooms allow you to practice your faith in peace and quiet while waiting for your layover.
A great way to pass the time is to pick up a book and read.
And here at the E-Library lounge, you can find all types of books. They partner with the National Museum of Taiwan Literature to offer books, tablets, and e-books all for free for the public to use.
Go Sight Seeing Around Taiwan
Depending on how long your layover at Taiwan is, you may be interested to go out and explore. And the best place to go exploring at is in Taipei which is the capital of Taiwan.
It is a bit far from the airport however and usually takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour just to reach the capital city. So I would only recommend sight seeing when you have a layover of over 6 to 8 hours long.
There are many methods for you to travel to the capital city with buses being the most popular. You can also use the MRT line or taxi but buses tend to be the cheapest option.
Once you arrive to Taipei, you’ll be able to see so many different things. From checking out Taipei 101 which was formally the worlds tallest skyscraper to the National Palace Museum or even Chiang Kai-Shek. There are literally tons of things for you to see and do.
Just make sure that if you do decide to go sight seeing, to give yourself enough time to travel back to the airport. You don’t want to miss your flight!
Get A Massage
Flying around all day can be tiring.
Which is why getting yourself a massage can be a good thing. And here at the Taiwan International Airport, you can find massage chairs laying all around the airport.
Get yourself a good 5 to 10 minute massage from these chairs and you’ll find yourself back in tip top shape.
Take A Shower
Sometimes flying around all day can make you feel dirty and tired.
Why not make your layover a lot more enjoyable by freshining yourself up in a shower.
You can find these shower facilities in several locations all around the airport. They are free to use and open 24 hours a day. However you’ll have to bring your own towels and toiletries if you want to use them. There are a few places where you can rent some toiletries but bringing your own is normally best.
Watch A Movie
Another good way to pass the time is by watching movies.
And here at this airport, you can find yourself a free movie theater to go to to watch the latest film releases all day. The movie theater room is also a great place to catch some shut eye as the room is normally very dark.
Work Out At The Gym
You’ll be happy to know that the Taiwan International Airport has a place where you can work out. Inside you can find yourself a free gym where you can go in and burn off some stress before or after a flight.
Exercising is a great way to pass the time while you are pre-occupied with working out.
Check Out Some Art Galleries
While you are in the airport, you might want to wander around and explore what the airport has to offer.
For instance, as you are walking you will be able to encounter several art exhibits on display.
Some of the art are extremely beautiful and clever while some of the art is just plain weird and will make you look at it in awe.
Definitely a great way to pass the time.
Check Out The E-Sports Experience Center
A great way to pass the time is by playing some games.
And here at this airport, you’ll be able to find an e-sports section filled with all the games you can ever imagine.
They have tons of computers free for you to use to play many of the most popular games currently as well as having a section for driving games as well where you can sit in the seat and race around.
Although you can’t download anything new, it makes for a perfect thing to do when you are just trying to pass the time.
Go To Sleep
Flying around on long flights can be very tiring.
Add that fact to a long layover and you are going to be very exhausted. Which is why spending your layover trying to catch up on some sleep might be a good thing to do.
If you are looking for a place to sleep, basically any terminal will do but most people tend to recommend Terminals C and D for some private sleep areas. Or if you don’t want to sleep in a chair, you can simply use your bags as a pillow and lay on the floor.
If you don’t like the idea of sleeping at an airport, you can always spend some money and go to one of the nearby hotels for some shuteye. There are hotels that connect to each of the terminals for you to sleep at.
As you can see, having a layover at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport doesn’t have to be boring.
There are many things for you to see and do..
So hopefully this list was able to give you some ideas as for things you are able to do if you ever get a layover at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport.
